Curriculum

Giancarlo RANALLI is full professor of Agricultural Microbiology (AGR/16),teacher of the courses in Environmental Microbiology, Industrial Microbiology and Microbial Ecology, at University of Molise. From 1986 to 1988 he has been contracted professor of "Institutes of Microbiology",University of Udine. On June 1991, he obtained Ph.D, in Food Microbiology at University of Milan.
Since 1995 he was full-time researcher at the Department of Agricultural Food Science, Environmental and Microbiology,University of Molise. Since 1998 was Associate Professor.
He was co-partner of two European project (FAIR5-CT97-3620 and FAIR5-PL97-3506)and national projects (Cofin 200-2002; PRIN 2007-2009).
He was co-partner of V° CE project (EVK4-CT-2001-00055)"BIOBRUSH" on "BIOremediation for Building Restoration of the Urban Stone Heritage in European States", with partners from U.K, Germany, Latvia and Greek.
Since 2001 to 2008 was Director of Departments Service Center of Microscopy (CSIM), at University of Molise.

Main scientific activities are focussed on the following topics: biodeterioration of artworks, bioremediation and biorestoration on Cultural Heritage, use of advanced bioindicators in monitoring of biological processes, microbial diversity in natural and artificial ecosystems.
More, studies on aerobic and anaerobic treatments of effluents and solid waste with energy recovery (methane, hydrogen) and composting process. Effects of low electric current on environmental and foods microflora (oenological sector).
He is member of the SIMGBM and SIMTREA.
The scientific activity is tested over 150 publications on international journals, conference proceedings, book contributions, internal reports and patents (2).
