Since my graduate dissertation, my scientific activity has led to several major publications: one Italian monograph and one critical edition (in German and Italian); several peer reviewed articles (in German, Italian, French and English, published in prestigious journals such as the « Revue de métaphysique et de morale » and the "European Journal of Philosophy"); numberous articles in conferences proceedings and committed chapters in collective research volumes in my field; some not peer-reviewed long essays, published mostly in the Journals of the Institutions where I have been Fellow (such as the « Annali dell’Istituto Italiano per gli studi storici » or the « Annali dell’Istituto di Scienze Religiose »); some collective volumes- 

These publications have provided original contributions on the thought of the major figures of German’s classical philosophy (Kant, Fichte and Hegel) and on the contemporary heritage of German classical philosophy, with particular reference to Italian Neo-idealism, to German Neo-Kantianism and to the phenomenological and hermeneutics movement of the XXth Century.

Furthermore – on demand of the Scientific and Editorial Board - I have participated with five chapters to three volumes of the « History of the Occidental Philosophy » (vol. III, vol. IV and vol. VI, edited by G. Cambiano, L. Fonnesu and M. Mori, Bologna, 2014 and 2015), an universitary handbook recently published by il Mulino » - one of the most important Italian publisher – which collect contributions of the most authorative scholars in their field. I have also recently took part with two chapters - on the demand of the Scientific and Editorial Board - to the Handbuch Anerkennung, directed by Ludwig Siep, Heikki Ikäheimo and Michael Quante, in the prestigious series Springer Reference Geisteswissenschaften.

  1. Il concetto e la storia. La filosofia della storia di J. G. Fichte, il Mulino, Bologna, 2009.

The book offers the first reconstruction (in any language) of the whole development of J. G. Fichte’s philosophy of history - from the early writings through the final pages of the diary – filling in an important gap in the field of research concerning German idealism. The analysis stresses both the unity and the lapses of Fichte’s reflection on history and is complete not only from a chronological point of view, but also because it deals with the topic in all its facets: on one hand, the author explores and explains the ontological presuppositions and the theoretical core of Fichte’s conception of history and historiography; on the other, she reconstructs the interpretation of the main events of ancient and modern history that Fichte develops, based on his own a priori construction of history as a whole. The results are original and noteworthy: the book corrects the traditional image of Fichte as a philosopher too concerned with speculative questions to devote his attention to concrete historical reality, and gives proper emphasis to the relevant contribution offered by the author of the doctrine of science to the lively debate on the scientific nature and the sense of history in Europe, and Germany especially, in the late 18th and early 19th centuries.

2. R. Picardi (ed.), Carteggio Croce – Medicus, il Mulino, Bologna 2002, p. XXVIII, 82.

[The correspondence and the intellectual relationship between the Italian idealist philosopher Benedetto Croce and the German professor Fritz Medicus is edited and reconstructed here for the first time, drawing on all relevant sources, most of which have never been considered before. The edition of the correspondence is accompanied by an important introductory essay, which reconstructs both the intellectual biography of Fritz Medicus and the crucial moments of the personal and cultural relationship between Croce and Medicus. On one hand, the author reveals the personality of Fritz Medicus – previously known only for his editing of and comments about Fichte’s writings – stressing the value and the originality of his own intellectual production, which encompasses various philosophical fields, from ethics to aesthetics. On the other hand, she sheds new light on the troubled genesis of the masterpiece Theory and history of Historiography, conceived by Croce after his failed attempt at writing – at Medicus’ urging – the volume on the philosophy of history for the Grundriss der philosophischen Wissenschaften.
