Transport Law

Features of Transport Law. Study and analysis of the main topics of Maritime, Air and Transport Law. The course aims to explain the national, European and International Transport Law framework.The course pays special attention to the transport contract’s structure, no matter which kind of vehicle is used and/or where the transport service is carried out, in light of the most recent doctrinal leanings about the different transport modalities. The course also aims to provide students with an accurate in-depth analysis for this specific area of law, therebyanalyzing the historical evolution that characterized the main topics in this field.Finally, the course aims to provide the relevant analytical skills to carry out case-by-case analyses and legal qualifications and also to understand, internalize and evaluate the interpretative issues that may arise in this field - also in light of possible future career and professional developments for which a specific and thorough knowledge of transport law is required.

 

1) Maritime, Air and Transport law: historical origins and caratheristics

2) Utilization contractsfor the varoius Means of Transport (lease, loan for use, charter party, towage contracts)

3) Complementary and related Transport contract (shipment, recreational craft charter party, cars rental, services contract, transport logistic contract, travel agreement, cruise ship contract, sub-carriage)

4) Contracts used in the practice of maritime and aircraft traffic (leasing, time charter, voyage charter, trip charter, aircraft charter, franchising)

5) The carriage contract (contracting parties,form, reaching a contract agreement, transport types,contract terms, obligations, contract dissolution)

6) The carrier's liability in the different transport types, legal exemption from liability for damages,compensation for damages, compensation limit

7) Transport documents
