STUDIES

She graduated in Biology 22/05/1991 at the Sapienza University of Rome (110/110). The Experimental Thesis in Plant Ecology dealt with the “Phytosociologic survey and syntaxonomic organization of the upland prairies at Nardus Stricta L. of the “Reatini Mountains”. In March 1998 won a PhD scholarship in “Environmental Science: Man and the Environment” (XIII cycle) at the Faculty of Science M.F.N. in Isernia of the University of Molise. The object of this activity was “Habitat classification and the evaluation of Environmental quality”. Obtained the title of Research Doctor 21st March 2002. 1st November entered the Faculty of Science of the University of Molise as a researcher SSD E01D Plant Ecology (now BIO/03) working at the Department of Environmental and Territorial Science (DISTAT) of the same faculty. From 1st November 2003, she was confirmed University researcher SSD BIO/03.

RESEARCH ACTIVITY

Since 1991 she has been engaged in numerous researches in the fields of phytosociology and plant ecology, directing her interests to the study of plant species and communities in central and southern Italy. In particular, she has dealt with: flora and the syntaxonomic classification of vegetation; analysis of the distribution pattern and architecture of wood species of the Mediterranean scrub; the application of multivariate analysis techniques to floristic and vegetation data; landscape ecology, with particular reference to the conservation of biodiversity and the definition of environmental quality; plant ecology in the urban environment.

She has participated, collaborating with the Laboratory of Plant Ecology of the University of Rome "La Sapienza", in research projects relating to the vegetation of central-southern Italy and in agreements stipulated between the Ministry of the Environment and the Protection of the Territory and the Sea - Directorate for the Conservation of Nature and the Italian Botanical Society as part of the activities aimed at the application, in Italy, of Directive 43/92/EEC relating to the identification of sites, habitats and species of community importance.

In Molise, she has collaborated and still collaborate in the research activities of the EcoGeoFor laboratory and the Molise Herbarium Museum. In particular: in the three-year period 2005-2008, as part of a PRIN 2005 funded project, she coordinated the Molise Operational Unit which had as its research topic on "Landscape transformations in the rural territory of Lower Molise: analysis of the dynamics of agro-environmental systems"; from 2008 to 2014 she was involved in the implementation of the agreement between the ASSO MAB Alto Molise Consortium and the University of Molise aimed at "Preparation of a project for the expansion and a new candidacy of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Collemeluccio-Montedimezzo"; in the years 2017-2019 she was the beneficiary of a FFABR 2017 funding (Fund for the financing of basic research activities) from the MIUR. Art. 1, paragraphs 295 and following, of Law No. 232 of 11 December 2016 (GU No. 297 of 21-12-2016 - Ordinary Suppl. No. 57).

On behalf of the SBI - Commission for the Promotion of Botanical Research in Italy, she edited the publication (in Italian and English versions) of the "brochures" relating to the projects carried out on behalf of DCN II distributed during the II National Conference on Protected Areas (Turin, 11-13 October 2002) and the volume “Naturalistic knowledge in Italy/Ecological Information in Italy” distributed on the occasion of the V World Congress on Parks in Durban (Republic of South Africa, 7-17/09/2003). She also participated in the development of the agreement stipulated between MATT-DPN and the SBI concerning the "Creation of a monograph on the knowledge of terrestrial biodiversity in Italy" (volume published in 2005 with the title State of biodiversity in Italy) and to the agreement for the "Creation of a highly popular volume on Italian flora and vegetation" (volume published in 2017 with the title La flora in Italia).

DIDACTICS

After graduation, she began a collaboration with the Plant Ecology laboratory of the Department of Plant Biology of the University of Rome "La Sapienza", as a volunteer collaborator. In this context, she carried out seminars (relating to: methods of studying vegetation; use and interpretation of multivariate analysis applied to vegetation data; European and national programs for the census and conservation of natural resources: CORINE biotopes, Habitat Directive, BIOITALY; Environmental Impact Assessment) within the courses of Nature Conservation and Plant Ecology for Natural Sciences.

At the University of Molise she initially held Ecology courses for the School of Specialization in Environmental Management of the Faculty of Economics, and thematic seminars in the courses of Plant Ecology and Applied Ecology of the Degree Course in Environmental Sciences (v.o.). Subsequently she held the following courses: Plant Ecology (80 hours, Degree Course in Environmental Sciences v.o., a.y. 2002/2003); Environmental Management and Certification (2 ECTS, Degree Course in Bioanalytical Sciences and Technologies, a.y. 2002/2003, 2003/2004, 2004/2005); Ecology (4 ECTS, Degree course in Sciences of Cultural and Environmental Heritage, a.y. 2003/2004, 2004/2005); Ecology and environmental certification (4 ECTS, Degree Course in Biological Sciences and Technologies, a.y. 2004/2005, 2005/2006); Ecology (4 ECTS, Degree Course in Biological Sciences and Technologies, a.y. 2006/2007, 2007/2008, 2008/2009); Phytogeography and plant ecology (6 ECTS, Degree course in Environmental and Nature Sciences, academic year 2003/2004, 2004/2005, 2005/2006); Plant ecology and phytogeography (5 ECTS, Environmental and Nature Sciences, a.y. 2006/2007, 2007/2008, 2008/2009); Module 2: Ecological networks of teaching Protected areas (5 ECTS, Master's Degree Course in Environmental Biology, a.y. 2009/2010, 2010/2011); Module 1: Geobotany of Geobotany and forestry teaching (5 ECTS, Degree Course in Biology, a.y. 2010/2011, 2011/2012); Didactics of Geobotany (2 ECTS, TFA, a.y. 2011/2012); Geobotany optional course (4 ECTS, Degree in Biology, 2012/2013 and 2013/2014); optional teaching of Botany (4 ECTS, degree course in Primary Education, a.y. 2012/2013); Didactics of Geobotany (2 ECTS, PAS, a.y. 2013/2014); Module 1: Biological systems of teaching Environmental education with elements of biology (6 credits, master's degree course in Primary Education, 2013/2014 and 2014/2015); Didactics of Geobotany (2 ECTS, TFA, a.y. 2014/2015); Module 1: Biological systems of teaching Biological systems and environmental education (4 ECTS, master's degree course in Primary Education Sciences, a.y. 2015/2016, 2016/2017, 2017/2018, 2021/2022, 2022/2023, 2023/2024, 2024/2025); Plant ecology (8 ECTS, degree course in Biological Sciences, ay 2015/2016, 2016/2017, 2017/2018, 2018/2019), elective course Botany laboratory (1 ECTS, master's degree course in Primary Education Sciences , 2016/2017, 2017/2018, 2018/2019, 2019/2020); Plant Ecology (6 ECTS, Degree Course in Biological Sciences, a.y. 2019/2020, 2020/2021, 2021/2022, 2022/2023, 2023/2024, 2024/2025); optional course Introduction to systematics and biology of Algae, Fungi and Lichens (2 ECTS, Degree Course in Biological Sciences, a.y. 2019/2020, 2020/2021, 2021/2022, 2022/2023, 2023/2024, 2024/2025); optional course Plant management: botanic garden (7 ECTS, Degree Course in Biological Sciences, a.y. 2019/2020, 2020/2021, 2021/2022, 2022/2023, 2023/2024).
